The festive season is here! This is the time of year where we lovveee enjoying festive food and spending time with our loved ones, but what if you still want to stay on track with your fitty goals?

You absolutely CAN enjoy the festive season whilst still keeping on track with your nutrition and exercise. Finding the right balance between your healthy lifestyle and enjoying the holidays can be challenging - but stress no more! Here are our top tips!

Ditch the 'all or nothing' approach

Just because you may be indulging in some festive foods, doesn’t mean you have to quit your fitness goals altogether! Having an ‘all or nothing’ approach can actually hinder your progress. Nutrition and exercise is not about perfection… It's about consistency.

Balance is key to navigating your way through the festive season without falling off track with your goals. When you’re at a party, allow yourself the freedom to enjoy the food! The rest of the time, try to stick to your healthy eating and exercise as best you can.

Keep up your fitness routine

You may find yourself with less time to exercise during the festive season… and that’s okay! ANY exercise is still better than none!

It’s important to keep your body active so you can still make progress with your goals. Too busy to make it to the gym? No problem! Give home workouts a try to save you time during this busy season. You can easily switch between gym and home workouts in the WBK FIT app!

You can also include exercise as part of your festivities with your friends! Why not go for a hike together? Or even do a WBK FIT workout over zoom? The options are endless!

Know your portions

Roast turkey, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese… you can enjoy ALL these foods by sticking to healthy portion sizes! It is often a better strategy to enjoy smaller portions of each food you want to eat, rather than restricting yourself during these festive meals.

Here is a guide to healthy portion sizes for our fav festive foods!

Bring your own festive dish

Why not get creative in the kitchen? Cook up a healthy meal to bring along to your festive events! Not only will this give you a healthier food option, but it will also give your friends and family a different meal to enjoy too!

Often lots of festive meals lack vegetables, which we all know we should be eating to help give us fiber and antioxidants. This is your opportunity to whip up a hearty salad for everyone to enjoy!
